Finding the Horadric Cube in Diablo 4 becomes confusing when the station is visible but its useful recipes are still missing. The Cube is located in Temis, the capital of Skovos, and it becomes available through the latest expansion campaign rather than through a random drop or dungeon reward. Once unlocked, it stays in the city as a permanent crafting station, so you won't carry it like Diablo 4 gear in your inventory while moving between activities.
Reach the relevant point in the Skovos campaign and the Cube will be introduced in Temis. Characters that have completed the campaign can use the completed-story state, while other characters may need to progress normally or select the campaign skip option from the character screen when it is available. This distinction catches players who level quickly: character level alone doesn't unlock the station.
There is also a difference between unlocking the Cube and unlocking every recipe. The seasonal Upgrade to Mythic option requires level 70 and access to Torment difficulty. If the station works but that recipe isn't listed, the missing requirement is probably progression rather than a bug. The item used for a Mythic attempt must also be an eligible Unique with at least 850 Item Power, and the resulting item follows the source item's equipment slot.
Early in a character's life, natural drops and basic upgrades usually do most of the work. The Cube becomes more valuable when a build has the right foundation but keeps missing one or two useful affixes. It can add or remove eligible affixes, reroll properties, improve item quality, transform Runes, create advanced gems, reroll Charms, and support other item conversions. A plain base with the right slot and one valuable property can be a better project than a flashy Legendary with poor stats.
Don't spend premium materials on every temporary upgrade. Gloves, rings, and amulets can offer strong offensive gains, but defense still decides many early Torment pushes. Keep armor, resistances, maximum life, and class-specific protection in the build before chasing another damage roll. From what I've seen, a character that survives consistently often climbs faster than one with higher sheet DPS but repeated deaths.
In Season 14, Update 3.1.1 reduced the Upgrade to Mythic cost from five Pandemonium Fragments to four. Repeatable Glints of Hope reputation rewards now guarantee a fragment, and the Corrupted Reaper can drop up to two depending on Torment level. The Seasonal Reputation Board and eligible caches add more ways to build a reserve. Still, cheaper attempts don't make the result predictable, so choose the gear slot that would help your loadout most before crafting.
For Torment progression, use the Cube to fix weak slots while improving Paragon power and Glyphs. Early Torment favors immediate Legendary and Rare Paragon nodes, while Glyphs become more valuable after the build reaches higher tiers and can level them properly. Farm the highest difficulty you can clear quickly and safely, then spend materials on strong Ancestral bases instead of endlessly rerolling disposable items. When a missing base stalls your build, buy cheap Diablo 4 gear only after checking the slot, Item Power, and affixes you actually need.
