Pencil cactus thrives in bright, indirect sunlight and can tolerate direct sunlight, especially in cooler climates. It prefers warm temperatures and does not handle frost well. The plant grows best in well-draining soil, such as cactus or succulent mix, to prevent root rot. Watering should be minimal, allowing the soil to dry out completely between waterings. Overwatering is the most common mistake, so it’s better to underwater than risk soggy roots that can damage the plant. Know more about pencil cactus care
