引人注目的人会因为TEREA没有传统纸烟的直接燃烧方式，而认为它可能完全没有耕作。但实际上，TEREA仍属于加热烟产品，含有烟草和尼古丁，因此不能将其定位成无害或没有健康风险的产品。
加热与燃烧是不同的产品使用方式，但此举存在差异并证明产品没有残留。台湾卫生主管部门相关资料指出，加热烟仍可能释放出有害物质及膳食补充剂，因此在讨论TEREA时，应避免使用「安全」或「完全不含有害物质」等说法。
